JUST Wales stand between France Women and Six Nations Grand Slam glory when the two sides collide at Stadiwm Zip World in Colwyn Bay.

Friday’s clash could see Les Bleus complete the elusive clean sweep should they overcome the Welsh on home soil, and they come into the game on the back of an impressive triumph over England last time out in-front of a world record crowd.

The French, who trained at Rydal Penrhos School on Thursday morning in preparation for the encounter, and Annick Hayraud has made two changes to the side, with Céline Ferer and Lise Arricastre coming into the starting line-up.

As a result, Romane Ménager drops back down to the bench, as she did in the clash with Italy.

France are looking to complete their fifth Grand Slam in the Women's Six Nations, having previously achieved the feat in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2014.

Caryl Thomas will win her 50th international cap for the hosts, with RGC also having representation in the form of Jess Kavanagh-Williams in an unchanged side.

Another Gog has been named amongst the replacements in the form of Gwenllian Prys, and Rowland Phillips’ side will be looking to finish on a high following their defeat to Italy.

Phillips, said: "We know we're playing against the best team in the competition. We've got to meet their physicality. It's an outstanding test for us, and to get something out of this game we need all the near-misses and fine margins that have affected us to this point to go our way this time.

"If we can capitalise on some of the opportunities we'll be looking to create, we can challenge one of the best teams in the women's game in front of what will be a strong crowd in Colwyn Bay."
