RGC return to action this weekend with the Principality Premiership West title in their sights.

The Gogs travel to Bridgend Ravens on Saturday, December 30, and they go into the clash knowing that they can clinch the crown and take a valuable eight points into the Principality Premiership when it reforms in the New Year.

Mark Jones’ side suffered just their second loss of the campaign against Carmarthen Quins last time out, which ended a long unbeaten sequence stretching back to their opening day reverse against Llandovery.

Three players have featured in the B&I Cup in the past two weeks while RGC have been out of action, with Tom Hughes, Alex Schwarz and Jacob Botica playing for the Scarlets Premiership Select Side.

Talented centre Hughes, who played a significant role in the Scarlets’ success, said: "It was a great experience to play in the Scarlets Select, even better to have Schwarzy and Bots lining up with me.

“Our focus is now back on the league and getting back to winning ways. As a group we only look at one game at a time, and even though the League comes together at the end of the month we are just looking at this Saturday.

“As simple as it seems that is what we have been doing all season and it will be no different in the New Year.”
