RHYL FC have received a fine for their part in a brawl during a friendly with Leeds United last year.
The Huws Gray Alliance side were ordered to pay £200 by the Football Association of Wales for ‘bringing the game into disrepute’ during the match, while United got away with just a warning from the English FA.
In a further blow to the club, defenders Tony Davies and Jason Jeffries both received three-match bans for their involvement.
A video, which was used as evidence in the Lilies’ case with the FAW, has now been made public and portrays the incident in a far different light to the one that received thousands of hits on social media following the incident.
The video shows Leeds starlet Bryce Hosannah involved in a scuffle with Jeffries, before the United bench come on to the pitch to continue the melee.
Managing Director Mike Jones stated he is pleased that the “truth has finally come out” after the initial damaging reports, which he also confirmed had “put sponsors off” since the clash in November.
Anyone wishing to enquire about sponsorship at Rhyl FC should contact Mike Jones on 07786 240112.
