RHYL manager Matthew Jones has urged his side to continue their fine recent run of form when they host Porthmadog on Saturday (2pm).

The new appointment will take charge for the first time as the third placed Lilywhites look to close the gap on Huws Gray Alliance leaders Caernarfon Town, who face a tricky trip to in-form Denbigh Town on the same afternoon.

Last time out saw the Lilies turn in an impressive second half display to come away with a 3-1 triumph over Holywell Town, and Jones is calling for more of the same against a dangerous Port outfit.

He said: “We believe that what we are doing is right so there is no need to disrupt that.

“I think it is going to be a similar style to what we have seen recently, and the management team were impressed with the second half effort against a good Holywell side on Saturday. We took the game on and some of our play going forward was excellent.

“This is another tough game but we come into it on a good run, so it is about us taking the game to them and showing them what Rhyl Football Club is all about.

“I have full confidence in the team and want to keep the run going and win games, so it is important that the lads are at it and at it and prepared to give us the best chance of getting a result.

“We know what Port are bringing but it is all about what we can do on the day.”

Port arrive at the Corbett Sports Stadium on the back of a resounding 7-0 victory over basement dwellers Llandudno Junction and currently sit in seventh position in the standings.
