IMPROVING Rhyl continued their recent good Huws Gray Alliance form with a convincing 4-1 success over FC Queen’s Park.

The Lilywhites have become a force to be reckoned with one again under interim manager Mark Connolly, and another three points leaves them in sixth spot as they prepare to host high-flying Holywell Town at the Corbett Sports Stadium on Saturday (2.30pm).

The away side began in positive fashion and took the lead on 31 minutes when recent re-signing Alun Webb finished off a fine team move to open the scoring.

Their dominance continued after the break and the Lilies doubled their advantage on 49 minutes courtesy of Stuart Carroll, before the impressive Webb notched his second of the afternoon following a prolonged period of pressure on 55.

Danny Myers managed to net a consolation for the home side on 68 minutes following a rare foray into the box, but their task was made even harder when they were reduced to ten men shortly after the restart.

Connolly’s men were now in complete control of proceedings and they put the exclamation point on proceedings a minute from time when Danny Holland fired home a fourth to complete the rout.

The result leaves Rhyl nine points behind leaders Caernarfon Town and three points off second placed Denbigh Town after achieving six wins and a draw from their last eight games.
