RGC have named their squad for Good Friday’s crucial Principality Premiership clash with Cross Keys at Stadiwm Zip World (2.30pm).

Mark Jones’ side will look to get their title push back on track following a disappointing defeat at Llanelli, which saw them slip to fourth spot in the standings.

The head coach has named a strong side on their return to action in Colwyn Bay after a spell on their travels, with the talented quartet of Afon Bagshaw, Iolo Evans, Tom Hughes and Tiaan Loots looking to make an impact after a series of exceptional performances on home soil.

Scrum-half Alex Schwartz and fly-half Jacob Botica will be expected to dictate the tempo of the game from their respective positions, while the inclusion of winger Rhys Williams is another welcome boost to a talented back-line.

The Gogs also boast plenty of power up front despite the absence of skipper Maredydd Francis, with the front three of Joe Simpson, Evan Yardley and Wales U20 international Sam Wainwright providing a fierce presence to the pack.

Alex Taylor is set to marshall it all from the number eight position, while Mei Parry also starts after enduring a frustrating season of injuries.

There is also a wealth of talent on the bench, which features plenty of gifted ball-handlers including Efan Jones, Harri Evans and Danny Cross.

Following Friday’s clash, RGC face two difficult road games against title contenders Cardiff and Pontypridd, before closing out the campaign against Bedwas, Ebbw Vale, leaders Merthyr and Newport, three of which will be at their Bay base.
