PRESTATYN Town have begun their search for a new chairman after Chris Tipping stepped down this week.

The news was confirmed at a meeting with supporters on Monday, with the Seasiders’ releasing a statement 24 hours later confirming the significant change at boardroom level for the recently relegated JD Welsh Premier League side.

A statement, said: “The club would like to announce that chairman Chris Tipping is stepping down from his role with immediate effect.

“Chris has been in the role for three years during which time he worked tirelessly for the club.

“Everyone connected with Prestatyn Town - officials players and supporters - wish to place on record their thanks for his efforts during his spell at Bastion Gardens.”

Mr Tipping will be remaining as a director but will have no say in the day-to-day running of club affairs, while vice-chair Lesley Tipping has also left.

This has provoked an appeal for volunteers for the position of chairman, with Town also looking to appoint a treasurer and commercial manager as a result of the changes.
