NEWLY appointed Prestatyn Town manager Gareth Wilson has secured his first signing since taking over from Neil Gibson.

The club have confirmed that they have secured the signing of Louis Irvine from Huws Gray Alliance side Guilsfield in a deadline day swoop on Wednesday, January 31.

The highly rated 24-year-old midfielder has been one of the stars for the Guils so far this season, playing in all 19 contests and scoring twice.

He has been a huge contributing factor in their rise to prominence once again, and leaves them in third spot and six points behind Caernarfon Town.

Irvine is in contention to make his debut for the Seasiders in their crucial Phase Two opener at JD Welsh Premier League basement dwellers Carmarthen Town, who have strengthened significantly during the window in a bid to avoid the drop.

Town also confirmed that striker Jack Kenny has left the club to play closer to his home in Greater Manchester.

The forward, who also turned out for Rhyl during his time in the Welsh pyramid, played a huge role in their Huws Gray Alliance title winning campaign last season alongside strike partner Jordan Davies.

Kenny, said: I'd just like to say a big thank you to all the coaching staff, players, volunteers and supporters. I've had, hands down, the best three years in football and I'm gutted it's coming to an end.

"Unfortunately, my personal circumstances won’t allow me to continue. I wish Prestatyn all the best and hope it's not the last time I'll wear the red shirt."

A club statement, added: “Jack goes with the best wishes of all at Prestatyn Town and our thanks for his efforts over the last few years.

“Jack's massive part in last season's promotion push was vital and he was a firm favourite with fans, staff and his teammates.”
