Liverpool took their goal tally for the season to 103 as they moved into second place in the Premier League with a comfortable 4-1 win over West Ham.

Mohamed Salah, with his 31st of the season, again got on the scoresheet while Emre Can, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane also struck.

West Ham hit the bar through Marko Arnautovic in the early stages but were outplayed and managed just a consolation through substitute Michail Antonio.

The hosts’ front three were again all on target but Can also impressed behind them in central midfield. His six club goals are the most the 24-year-old has managed in a single season, while he brilliantly spotted Firmino for Liverpool’s third.

Stat of the match

Can’s first-half header was the 100th goal scored by Liverpool in their 40th game all competitions this term. In bringing up the ton, they matched a feat Manchester City achieved last month in two fewer fixtures.

Salah’s sensational season

Another landmark was reached at Anfield, this one a personal one, as Salah notched his 31st goal in his debut season with Liverpool. That haul has equalled Luis Suarez’s tally from his sensational 2013-14 season, his final one on Merseyside, when the Reds nearly ended their long wait for a domestic title.
