KINMEL Bay joint-manager Leon Field could not hide his delighted after his side finally clinched the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division title.

The long-time leaders are now set for a tilt at Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two after a memorable campaign that has seen them lose just one game and score more than 80 goals in their first season back at Y Morfa.

The joint-boss, who shares the responsibility with Andy Thomas and Ryan Turner, praised the effort of everyone associated with the club as they continue to establish themselves as a valued community project.

Field, said: “We are now champions and this was our objective from the start.

“Thanks go to Bill Darwin and Anne Darwin for letting us play at Y Morfa Kinmel Bay, without their support and the support of all the other coaches at the club none of this would have been possible.

“It’s nice to have a proper structure in place for next season, we had a business plan and it’s come to fruition so hopefully next season we can compete at the Welsh Alliance level and do ourselves justice.

The lads have been absolutely fantastic. Every one of them have worn the shirt with pride and they have given their all throughout this season and they have been reward with the title “We are all proud of their efforts and achievements this season, coming back for midweek games playing two or three games a week, but we did it.”

The Bay management team have already begun with preparations ahead of their tilt at the fourth tier next season, with pre-season already confirmed to begin on Tuesday, June 12.

Club chairman Bill Darwin, added: “I think everyone all should be very proud of their achievement and what Bryan Roberts (league secretary) had to say about you all.

“I would like to second that respect and say that the women's team, the girls’ teams, the boys’ teams, the Futsal team, the reserves and rest of the club committee are very proud to have you as our men's team.

“The club is looking forward to the future helping you all to realize your football dreams and the main thing is to enjoy their football.”
