LLANFAIRFECHAN Town boosted their hopes of a top two Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division finish thanks to a narrow 2-1 home win over Abergele.

The one-time title hopefuls moved about Llansannan on goal difference following their 10th league success of the season, and they also have a game in hand on their rivals with three contests remaining.

First half goals from Adam Hill and Ryan Jones within the opening 30 minutes were enough to give Y Glannau a 2-0 victory at Rhyl Youth, which sees them move off the basement at the expense of Gele.

Division One side Llanrwst United Reserves still harbour hopes of a top three finish after a comprehensive 4-0 home rout over Henllan.

The Rwsters got off to a flyer and went ahead early on through Craig Carpenter after ten minutes, before Steven Parry doubled their tally on 18 to give them further reward for a dominant spell in the early exchanges.

After the interval saw the hosts seal the points when Luke Roberts found the target, and Carpenter capped off a fine individual performance with his second of the evening late on to complete the scoring.

A brace apiece from Shaun Davies and Tom Collier did the majority of the damage as Llysfaen came away from their trip to Betws-y-Coed with a 5-1 triumph, while a strong second half fightback from Denbigh Development was not enough to secure a share of the spoils in their 4-3 home reverse at the hands of Rhos United.
