KINMEL Bay have officially clinched the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division title with a 10-1 home win over Old Colwyn.
The long-time leaders managed to seal the victory in fine style, although credit must go to the visitors for fulfilling the fixture despite only raising seven men for the contest.
Bay got off to the best possible start when Kieran Ellis found the net within the first minute, but the visitors responded well and levelled moments later through Jake Parkes on three.
It was all one-way traffic from then on, with the outstanding Ellis rounding off a sensational first half with four more efforts throughout the first period to take his tally for the evening to five.
James Hay also finished well to all-but guarantee the title after 22 minutes, and the same pattern of play continued after the break when another sustained period of pressure resulted in Kyle Luffman converting an opportunity on the hour mark.
This was swiftly followed by another courtesy of the prolific Ben Cawley on 62 minutes, with Tom Dodd getting in on the act with a well-taken effort after 70.
There was still time for further goalscoring exploits from the dominant home side, with Liam Rowland-Jones completing the rout on 71 minutes after another spell of prolonged possession.
League secretary Bryan Roberts was on hand following the contest to present the trophy to the ambitious club, who will now test their skills in Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two next season.
