KINMEL Bay are now one win away from the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division title thanks to a resounding 6-1 success at Llansannan.

Leon Field’s side were in ruthless form throughout the contest with their championship rivals, and three more points against Old Colwyn on Wednesday evening will see them clinch the crown and promotion.

The away side produced a scintillating start which was the catalyst behind their victory, and they went ahead on 15 minutes when Danny Campbell burst clear and finished well.

Campbell was on hand yet again to double their advantage after 20 minutes, and this was swiftly followed be another courtesy of Tom Galvin on 22 after another period of sustained pressure.

After the interval; saw Gari Evans’ side reduce the arrears when Dafydd Owen hit the target seven minutes after the restart, but this was met by an instant response from the visitors through Ben Cawley.

Kie Ellis wrapped up the contest with a well-taken strike after 57 minutes, and another sensational attacking move saw Cawley help himself to his second of the afternoon to round off the scoring.

This was Bay’s 11th straight league win, which leaves them 13 points ahead of Llansannan having played two games more than their title rivals.

They have managed to hit the net 77 times in their 17 league games so far this season, conceding just 26, and have tasted defeat just once during that period.
