LLANDUDNO Albion produced a late fightback to oust Conwy Borough from the Mawddach Cup at the second round stage thanks to a 2-1 win.

The Tangerines made an impressive start to proceedings and went ahead on 20 minutes when Cory Williams found the net, but after the interval saw the home side level proceedings on 80 when Joe Lloyd finished well.

The tie was settled in stoppage time after a dramatic finish saw Daniel Evans fire home with virtually the last action of the contest to give his side a passage to the next stage.

Llanrwst United finally played their first round tie in the same competition and emerged 6-1 victor’s over Blaenau Amt.

A brace apiece from Merrick Knight  and Mike Lundstram did the majority of the damage, with Sam Roberts and Callum Parry  completing the rout.

Division Two leaders Glan Conwy extended their lead at the summit with a resounding 6-0 home thrashing of Gaerwen.

Charlie Jones got the home side off to a flyer with a well-timed finish early on, before Jamie Jones doubled their tally from close range after an Azzy Boyle shot was only parried.

Boyle finally got in on the act with a third soon after with a fantastic strike, with Sam Sinky, Chris Lloyd and Jones helping themselves to efforts during the one-sided affair, which leaves Glan 24 points ahead of Amlwch Town who have seven games in hand.

Prestatyn Sports are another danger and find themselves 25 points off the pace but have an astonishing 11 game advantage.

There was no such luck for Mochdre Sports, who were beaten 5-2 at Aberffraw, while Penmaenmawr Phoenix were on the end of a 3-1 home reverse to Meliden.
