IT promises to be a busy summer of transfer activity on the North Wales football scene, as clubs look to give themselves the best possible chance of succeeding ahead of the new season.

Sports reporter Dean Jones looks at five players who could be heading to pastures new.

James Joyce (Llandudno)

Rumoured clubs: Bala Town, Colwyn Bay.

The talented full-back has been one of the cornerstones of Tudno’s success in recent seasons, and he is once again highly sought-after this summer.

Manager Iwan Williams will undoubtedly fight hard to keep him at the Giant Hospitality Stadium, but a change of scene in the English pyramid with former boss Alan Morgan would be a real coup for the Seagulls as they look to mount an Evo-stik North title challenge next time around.

Lakesiders’ boss Colin Caton is reportedly also keen and can offer a better financial package, but the decision will ultimately be Joyce’s in terms of where he plays his football next season.

Sion Bradley (Porthmadog)

Rumoured clubs: Aberystwyth Town, Caernarfon Town.

The Port standout has been one of the top performers in the Huws Gray Alliance for a number of years now, and he looks ready to make the step up to test his skills in the JD Welsh Premier League.

Cofis’ manager Sean Eardley is rumoured to be a huge admirer of the player and is looking to add him to his newly promoted side, but any move in the coming weeks is expected to be met by Aber manager Nev Powell.

Noah Edwards (Prestatyn Town)

Rumoured clubs: Llandudno, Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The likelihood of Edwards remaining at the Motion Finance Stadium are remote due to their recent relegation to the second tier, and there will be no shortage of suitors for the gifted playmaker if he decides to move on to pastures new.

One of the clubs thought to be exploring his signature are Llandudno, while the opportunity to join brother Kai and former manager Neil Gibson at The Nomads will be another attractive position for Edwards, who has the talent for a long career at the highest level of the Welsh pyramid.

Steven Thomas (Holywell Town)

Rumoured clubs: Cefn Druids, Caernarfon Town.

It would be a huge blow for the Wellmen to lose their skipper and manager Johnny Haseldin in the same summer, but another exceptional campaign a move to the WPL is not entirely out of the question.

Huw Griffiths is believed to be monitoring the situation as he looks to build on the Ancients’ superb season, while Eardley is also reportedly looking to bring him and boost the Canaries’ defensive ranks.

Dean Rittenberg (Bangor City)

Rumoured clubs: The New Saints, Connah’s Quay, Bala Town, Wrexham, Chester.

With defender Danny Holmes beginning the Citizens’ exodus following their relegation, it would be a surprise if Rittenberg was not far behind after emerging as one of the brightest young prospects in the WPL last term.

The former Blackburn Rovers youth product’s ambitious will not be matched with HGA football, and he will have his pick of high-profile clubs both in the Welsh and English pyramid in the next few weeks.
