Local Rugby Round-up
Rhyl 17pt Bro-Festiniog 69pt
AS the scoreline suggests Rhyl were both mentally and physically outplayed as Bro Ffestiniog came to the Waen with a very strong side.
Rhyl could not keep up with the ferocity and tenacity of the Bro pack with their bac
ks also utilising their physicality..
It wasn't until the last 10 minutes that Rhyl decided to take the game to Bro with three tries scored, one with a neat chip over the Bro's defence by John Hall to set up a lovely individual try by wing Gareth Nuthall.
The second try came very quickly and caught Bro by surprise with Simon Davies accepting a short ball off Stuart Felcrook and going over for a well earned try.
The third score came from Felcrook himself who was able to open up the Bro's defensive backline with some fine footwork. John Hall added a conversion to make Rhyl's total to 17. Rhyl and District Rugby Club

Rhyl 2nds 23pt Denbigh 20pt
RHYL did local rivals Abergele a big favour by beating second placed Denbigh in a pulsating match at a very muddy Waen.
Rhyl gave starting chances to some of Jim Waring's youth team starlets, with Nathan Roberts at number 8 and Ashley Tilley at flanker.
Denbigh scored the opening try but Rhyl responded and Roberts scored a tremendous try after an excellent move. Keith Gains coverted to give Rhyl a 7-5 lead.
By the end of the half the score was 10-10, after Denbigh scored another try and Gains kicked a penalty. Second-half replacement Phil Blakoe showed he had lost none of his cunning and guile, as he won a couple of penalties for his side by some effective picking and driving from the base of the ruck. Keith Gains showed his customary aplomb in accurately kicking the ball between the posts to regain his side's lead.
Geezer Davies added a further try, which Gains coverted to leave Rhyl 23-10 ahead.
nRhyl under 14s won 49-0 against Colwyn Bay in an outstanding team performance, with tries coming from Lewis Weaver (3), Tom Jones (3), Jamie Griffiths (2) and Elliott Roberts, with Weaver converting two of them.
The under 13s lost by one try to a strong Liverpool team despite a brave performance. Toby Davies scored and converted all three tires for Rhyl.
Rhyl under 8s won 8-3 against Wrexham, with tries being scored by Sol Kerfoot Robson, Owen Jones and Mathew Vaughan to secure a first win against Wrexham this season.
