THE late introduction of substitute Neil Gibson turned this game as Cymru Alliance champions Prestatyn plundered two goals in the last 10 minutes to finish the season in style.
Before the player manager came on as a 78th minute replacement for Jon Fisher-Cooke the Seasiders had struggled to break down a defence-minded Penrhyncoch.
The hosts fired an early effort just wide before Steve Bowes was denied by Penrhyn keeper Ric
hard Morgan's legs, then Steve Haris missed a sitter from close range.
On 20 minutes a Jack Lewis throw found Fisher-Cooke, he passed to Bowes and his delivery set up Harris who again fluffed a great opportunity.
Dan Evans was fouled outside the box but Gareth Davies' free-kick cleared the bar and there was little else to shout about in the first half.
Soon after the restart Fisher-Cooke broke down the left and struck a shot which was tipped over by Morgan, Adie Hoyle's 25-yarder just cleared the bar, but then Jon Dunt had to produce a point blank stop from Tim Turner. Fisher-Cooke's cross was met by Gareth Davies on 61 minutes, but his effort was cleared off the line.
It looked like it might be one of those days for Town when Lewis' thunderbolt free-kick was magnificently kept out by Morgan. But then on came Gibson and Prestatyn's attacking threat grew.
In the 80th minute a long ball by Harris was flicked on by the Wales Under-21 midfielder, and Michael Parker slotted home from close range.
Two minutes later Andy Davies found Gibson on the right and he picked out Bowes who turned and banged in his 27th goal of the season.
This was a fantastic 14th away win in 16 starts for the Seasiders – the form of true champions.
