MO Hughes 21-4 and Mark Jones 21-4 pulled off single-figure wins to send promotion candidates Abergele storming to a 10-4 win in Section A at home to Rhuddlan.
Brian Jones managed a 21-15 card as Rhuddlan struggled for points while Dyserth also cam
e unstuck in a 9-5 home defeat by Llandudno. Geraint Roberts 21-11 and Hefin Cunnah 21-12 were Dyserth's unavailing top blocks while St Asaph suffered a 10-4 blow at title contenders Deganwy Ventilation just a week after themselves routing Denbigh 12-2 for a flying start to the new season. Robbie Jones ran out a 21-3 winner but it wasn't enough to prevent Copperfields from falling 9-5 at home to Llanrwst while Grove Park followed up their 12-2 romp at Mochdre with a 9-5 victory over Anglesey rivals Holyhead.
Kinmel Bay hit the heights at St Asaph B where they came off 10-4 victors to enhance their promotion hopes but Rhyl were on the receiving end again after cashing 10-4 at home the previous week with a 9-5 tumble at Denbigh B.

Section C: Conwy 5 Eirias Park 9; Grove Park 9 Holyhead 5; Old Colwyn 5 Mochdre 9. Section D: Bala 5 Vardre 9; Llandudno B 4 Llysfaen 10; Penmaenmawr B 8 Penygroes 6; St Asaph B 4 Kinmel Bay 10.

PETER Scott 21-3 and Emlyn Pierce 21-5 earned title favourites St Asaph a storming 12-2 win in their Vale of Clwyd League Division A test at Denbigh A.
Martin Svilis 21-8 was unable to spare Denbigh's blushes while Prestatyn Highbury went down 10-4 at home to Meliden A in an early blow to their title prospects. Glenda Bethel 21-0 and Jeff Hollis 21-9 spearheaded Meliden's victory role while formidable Sunny Rhyl showed their teeth with an ominous 10-4 win at Rhuddlan A. Veteran ace Mike Barrodale 21-6 headed the Rhyl winners with Brian G Jones 21-9 Rhuddlan's best.
Gareth Tibbett 21-6 and Sue Dace 21-7 steered Trefnant A to a convincing 11-3 win over Abergele A but Grove Park were narrowly pipped 8-6 by East Parade A, Merfyn Hayes 21-9 the visitor's biggest winner in a tight Division B clash at Rhyl. Terry Harper 21-9 was again Grove Park's leading performer but Bryn Newydd ran into an 11-3 defeat at Sunny Rhyl B where Clive Williams 21-3 took pride of place in an emphatic club double.
St Asaph B couldn't follow suit, falling 10-4 at home to Old Colwyn despite Derek Davies's 21-5 card but East Parade despatched Rhyl A 9-5 in their derby date, Ron Parker 21-5 the top home winner with Harry Hurst 21-7 responding.
Tim Hall 21-6 helped Kinmel Bay to a 9-5 win over Trefnant B in Division C, Kirsty Jones 21-7 the visitor's best while Rhuddlan B battled out a 7-7 draw at Abergele B thanks to Lawrence Bennett 21-9 to offset George Scott's 21-5.
