Griffiths hits four in nine goal romp

FOUR Ian Griffiths goals helped Prestatyn Town Reserves secure a remarkable 9-0 victory at Rhyl Nomads in the Mackenzie Jones Clwyd League Premier Division.
Top scorer Craig Griffiths and Darren Hughes added another two apiece and Jamie Duffy made up the nine.
Rovers, meanwhile, slipped up badly when they could only draw 2-2 at home with Aston Park Rangers.
It needed a 74th minute equaliser from James
Davies, who had earlier put Gele ahead to salvage a point. Rovers now go to Penmaenmawr Phoenix for their final game on Saturday needing to win to keep their championship hopes alive.
Rhuddlan Town recovered from falling 2-0 down inside 15 minutes to beat Halkyn United Reserves 4-2. Shane Hayes (2, 1 pen), Sion Burrows and Dave Winters turned the tables for resurgent Rhuddlan.
In Division One, bottom side Rhuddlan Town Reserves scored four times at Glan Conwy Reserves yet ran out 7-4 losers.
Jamie Allan (2), Paul Dykes and Steve Williams kept Rhuddlan in the contest, but Jack Roberts netted five for Glan.
Y Glannau led 1-0 at Cerrigydrudion through Gareth Davies' 57th minute penalty, but the hosts sealed a draw with an 89th minute strike from Endaf Jones.
Jon Stead was responsible for Betws yn Rhos leading 1-0 at Aston Park Rangers Reserves at the break, but it all went pear shaped in the second period as Aston chalked up five goals without reply.
St Asaph overcame basement boys Bro Cernyw 2-1. Sion Jones and top marksman Martin Jones put Saints in command before Tristan Roberts scored for Cernyw.
