A SWASHBUCKLING unbeaten 85 from Haydn Williams helped Prestatyn to their first victory in the Business Assistance Liverpool Competition Premier Division.
Williams shared in a match-winning partnership of 109 with Gareth Boughey as the North Wales side saw off Lytham by six wickets at Beach Close.
The hosts restricted the Lancastrians to 193 for eight off 54 overs skipper Morne Williams collected two
for 13, South African professional Mario Olivier two for 41 and Gareth Friday two for 56.
Prestatyn were struggling until Williams and Boughey came together at the fall of the third wicket.
Opener Boughey held one end up with a determined 49 while Williams flourished helping his side reach the target in 44 overs.
There was also an excellent victory for Prestatyn 2nds at Norley Hall in the Second X1 Division One competition.
The visitors were bowled out for 151, brothers Andrew Harris (72) and David Harris (59) sharing in a century stand for the fourth wicket.
Sixteen-year-old Matthew Williams then claimed four for 25 and Andrew Harris two for 23 as Norley were dismissed for 132, points 24-7.
This weekend Prestatyn 1sts have an away double header in the Premier Division, playing Wallasey on Saturday and Maghull on Bank Holiday Monday.
