THREE local sides have submitted applications for promotion from the Clwyd Premiership.

Abergele Rovers, Rhuddlan Town and St Asaph have all put their names in the hat for promotion to the Welsh Alliance next season, along with Colwyn Bay side Mochdre Sports.

Should they finish high enough in the league, and meet the club and ground requirements for the Welsh Alliance, any of the four teams could end the season with promotion.

Abergele are the strong favourites for the league title, currently unbeaten at the top of the league with eight wins from nine matches.

Reigning champions Rovers have been in the thick of a promotion hunt for the last few years, and will be hoping for more luck in this years attempt having been denied promotion last term.

Rhuddlan Town will also be looking for a second half of the season surge to push their promotion credentials, sitting seven points off the pace in fourth position.St Asaph will be harbouring similar promotion ambitions, currently in fifth place.
