A SERIES of impressive performances in pre-season has given Prestatyn Town fans hope of matching last season’s heroics in the upcoming Super 12 season.
Town have recorded a number of good results over recent weeks as the squad returns to action ahead of this weekend’s opening round of fixtures.
The latest pre-season friendly saw the Seasiders go down 1-0 to Premier League side Stoke City, who took 85 minutes to finally break down a stubborn Town defence.
Despite losing out, a number of strong performances across the pitch have indicated the side are ready to take on the challenge of the new look Welsh Premier Division.
Prestatyn kick-off the season with a daunting match away to champions TNS, before a visit from Haverfordwest and away fixtures at Newtown and Aberystwyth.
The Seasiders have also drawn Bala Town in the Welsh League Cup, with a first leg away fixture scheduled for the end of this month.
S4C have also announced that their Scorio team will be covering two of Prestatyn’s early season matches, with live coverage provided for their away fixture at Newtown on August 28 and the home match with Neath on September 11.
The televised matches will have a later kick-off time of 3.45pm, with other matches starting as usual at 2pm.
