JOHN Terry hit the headlines for all the right reasons, slamming home a hat-trick for Afon Goch Rangers, who remain clear at the top of the Rhyl Sunday 6-a-side league following their 6-3 victory over Purple Gorillaz.

Nathan Smith was influential for Gorillaz, as he also notched a treble, but was unable to stop his side slumping to defeat.

Gaz Thomas also got his hands on the match ball for Cobra KAI as he inspired them to a 5-1 win over The Goers, Richard Bellis grabbing the consolation.

Scott Davenport pulled the strings for PTS, as they edged past Meliden Stars 4-3, with another Scott, Davies, grabbing three for the victors. Paul Jones brace a Simon Fawcett strike weren't enough to earn Stars a point as Adam Williams was also on the score-sheet for PTS.

Blues and Two's still have everything to play for following a 3-0 victory over Unreal Madrid, Luke and Sam Williams, plus a notch from Reece Evans, eased them to maximum points.

The brand new season in the Monday Premier Division saw JBS.com claim a comfortable 4-1 victory over Rhyl Boys, as a Chris Bartlett double and strikes from both Chris and Danny Mills sealed the win, with David Gray grabbing the consolation.

Goals from Phil Parry (2) and Chez Johns ensured Pen Y Fford sneaked through 3-2 against Roe 9, as Steve Bevan and Tom Roberts both netted in a losing cause, and a solitary strike from Tom Williams saw Rhyl Rockets beat Badgers Nadgers by a goal to nil.

Wayne Fielding and Damian Hodgson were on the scoresheet for Division One side Clueless FC, but they were held 3-3 by AFK Mini Oven, who were indebted to goals from Gavin Dyke, Aled Roberts and Justin Whitehouse, whilst Warren Adams and Anthony Colquitt had their shooting boots on for Westend FC in a 2-0 win over 1 2 Go.

Warren Adams four goal salvo was enough for leaders Westend FC to beat 12 Go 5-3 in the Thursday league.

The victory sees them a point clear of Meliden Stars, who beat Rhyl Madrid 2-0 thanks to goals from Johnny Abbot and man of the match Simon Fawcett, while Eliott James was the matchwinner for Dyswich Rovers who thumped Crown Fire 4-0.

Tristan Owens scored one of the two goals in vain for AC Rhylan who lost 3-2 to strugglers Baz United, while Kevin Rich was bang on the money, but Frank the Tank still lost 3-1 to Rhyl Raiders, who had Mike Colley bordering on the superb.
