PRESTATYN Running Club’s ladies’ captain Glenda Davies has edged ahead in the club’s Grand Prix competition, with 218 points from 17 races.

The cancellation of Sunday’s Village Bakery half-marathon in Wrexham meant that second-placed George Nicholls missed an opportunity to close the gap, and the next qualifying race is the Borders League fixture at Mold on March 14.

The leading places are: Glenda Davies 218/17; George Nicholls 204/18; Steve Hatfield 163/18; Brenda Tiedtke 127/10; Griff Owens 126/12; Gabby Waring 108/10; Des Davies 108/10; Jayne Penrhyn-Jones 103/7; Eleri Goddard 99/13; Arwel Jones 92/13.

The club’s annual meeting will be held on March 26, and anyone wishing to have an item placed on the agenda is asked to notify Gareth Hughes as soon as possible.
