RHYL were always in command at lowly Port to continue their improved run of form.
Tyrone Kirk tested keeper Richard Morgan with an early drive which was saved and Matthew Williams hit the rebound wide.
Away keeper Jack Cudworth was forced to push an Aden Shannon strike behind for a corner, then the title- holders suffered a blow when pivotal midfielder John Leah had to go off injured to be replaced by player-manager Greg Strong.
The boss put himself up front and it proved a masterstroke as on 24 minutes Strong's left-foot drive found the net, although Morgan really should have kept it out.
Morgan did better in pushing away Phil Ojapah's strike before the break, but five minutes into the second half the Lilywhites virtually clinched the points when a brilliant free-kick from Mark Connolly brought him a 22nd goal of the campaign.
Matthew Williams was thwarted by a Morgan save and Port could not even manage a consolation with substitute Jamie Rogers missing a late sitter.
