A stunning Gary Thomas hat-trick, along with goals from Danny Grundy and John Jones ensured Cobra Kai clung on 5-4 in a thriller with The Goers, for whom Nathan Hamm hit a brace with Mike Colley and Mike Humphries also netting in a losing cause.
Danny Pickard’s treble couldn’t help Corbett Sports to any more than a 3-3 draw with Inter Rhylan, as Rob Howarth (2) and Jordan Miller found the back of the net.
It was the same story for Lloyd Beattie, who claimed the matchball for PTS but goals from Craig Roberts (2) and Paul Jones made sure of a 3-3 draw for Meliden Stars, and Jake Hughes and John Terry struck for leaders Afon Goch Rovers, who defeated Purple Gorillaz 2-0 to stay top of the pile.
Roe 9 had their wings clipped at the top of the Monday Premier DIvision as goals from Darren Hughes and Paul Morris weren’t enough to secure a win against Rhyl Rockets, as Warren Adam and Faz Denton converted to claim a 2-2 draw for the opposition, and a solitary strike from Gaz Walsh saw JBS.com sneak through 1-0 against Pen Y Ffordd.
An inspirational four-goal salvo from Niall McGuinness helped Odds and Sods to a crushing 5-0 win against AFK Mini Oven in Division One, as Ryan McGuinness also got on the scoresheet for the side that sit top on goal difference, and Mighty Duffs were 2-1 victors over Rhyl Boys thanks to strikes from Jay Duffy and Jack Roberts, with Chris Owen’s effort nothing more than a consolation.
Tristian Owens’ hat-trick for AC Rhylan in the Thursday league inspired his side to an enthralling 5-3 victory over Baz United, as James Lloyd and Ryan Soudagar also netted, although Ryan Bailey (2) and Olly Jones scored in the losing cause.
Paul Jones (2), Phil Davies and Craig Roberts ensured Meliden Stars moved top on goal difference with an all too easy 4-0 win over Rhyl Madrid, as West End FC could only manage a 3-3 draw with One Two Go with strikes from Anthony Colquitt, Mike Matthews and Danny Roache, with Danny Brown, Lee Donaldson and Craig Maddox sealing a point for the opposition.
Steve Jones’ goal for Crown Fire wasn’t enough for their first victory of the campaign as Wayne Evans’ strike nicked a point for Dyswich Rovers, and Frank The Tank also drew 1-1 with Rhyl Raiders, Mark Lewis and Nathan Hamm on the scoresheet respectively.
