Blues & Twos go for threes and fours

BLUES and TWOS romped home to an impressive 9-2 rout of Corbett Sports as they took an early lead at the top of the Rhyl Sunday 6-a-side Leisure League.

Luke Lamont fired home a stunning four-goal salvo, while a hat-trick from Darren Heep and a double for Ellis Wood completed the scoring.Ben Rowley bagged a treble for PTS as they clung on for a thrilling 5-4 victory over Inter Rhyl an.

Andy Owens and Greg Roberts also netted for the winners, while a Jordan Miller hat-trick wasn’t enough for Inter to grab anything from the game.

A solitary strike from John Terry earned Afon Goch Rovers a 1-0 win over The Goers, and Gary Thomas struck for Cobra Kai as they drew 1-1 with Magics, with the prolific Darren Cassidy on target for the opposition.

Badgers Nadgers moved two points clear at the top of the Monday Premier Division, as goals from Kyle Molineux (2), Lee and Lloyd Beattie, Jodi Jones and Mike Livesey helped them to a crushing 7-0 victory over Pen Y Ffordd.

A Matt Hughes double was cancelled out by goals from Billy and Jack Thomas as Rhyl Rockets were held 2-2 by Royal Oak, and Rhyl Army drew 1-1 with Roe 9 as James Weatherstone and Steve Bow found the net for their respective sides.

Gaz Lloyd grabbed a superb four-goal haul for Division One leaders The Inbetweeners in a 6-2 drubbing AFK Mini Oven, as Cameron Campbell and Lee McCormac were also on target. John Hughes hit a brace in the losing cause.

Frank The Tank stayed top of the Thursday league as a solitary Ian Bennett strike helped them see off Dyswich Rovers, but Rhyl Bangers kept up the pressure as Rob Hughes and Nathan Prime struck in a 2-1 win over AC Rhyl an.

Nathan Hamm’s meaty double-strike for Rhyl Raiders was thwarted by goals from Meliden Stars’ Simon Fawcett and Craig Roberts in a hard-fought 2-2 draw.
