LLANBERIS were unable to make an impact in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title race as they were heavily beaten 5-0 at home by Denbigh Town.

The visitors made a dominant start to the contest and went ahead through a fine finish from Chris Bennett, before Jake Walker’s header from a Sion Jones delivery doubled their advantage within the opening ten minutes.

This was met by a good response from the home side, but despite their improved play they were unable to get themselves on the scoresheet and fell further behind just before the break when Walker finished well for his second of the contest.

After the interval saw a superb back-heel from Walker seal his hat trick, and Llan’s misery was compounded late on when Bennett sealed his brace to complete the rout.

There was better fortune for Bodedern Athletic, who continued their fine run of form with a 2-0 triumph at Llandudno Albion.

The away side began the game on the front foot and went ahead on 19 minutes when Shaun Jenkins converted a chance, and Ricky Williams’ men were presented with a golden chance to seal the points after the break when they were awarded a penalty with 78 on the clock.

Casey Boylan remained composed to put away the spot kick and end Albion’s unbeaten home record.

Meilir Williams and Iwan Jones were on target for Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs in their 2-0 win over Prestatyn Sports, and Nantlle Vale won by the same score line at home to Llandyrnog United.

Penrhyndeudraeth and Llanrug United shared the spoils in a 3-3 thriller, with Mynydd Llandegai downed 3-1 at home by Greenfield.

Gaerwen boosted their Division Two title hopes with a 5-0 home rout over Llandudno Amateurs, with Aberffraw and Amlwch Town notching impressive away wins at Pentraeth and Barmouth and Dyffryn United respectively.
