RHYL striker Asa Hamilton looks to have played his last game for the club.

The Journal understands that the physical forward has been released by the Lilywhites just a few short weeks after a high-profile summer switch from Huws Gray Alliance champions Airbus Broughton.

Hamilton netted four times for the club during the early stages of the JD Cymru North campaign, with two of those coming from the penalty spot.

The player tweeted that he was looking for a club to train with until Hamilton is eligible to sign with another team on January 1.

Hamilton played a pivotal role in securing the double for the Wingmakers’ during a dominant campaign, which also resulted in promotion back to the JD Cymru Premier.

The former Guilsfield frontman netted 13 times for the club last term and is widely regarded as one of the best players at his position anywhere outside of the domestic top-flight.

The onus will now be on Sam Molyneux and Arek Piskorski to provide the necessary firepower for the Lilies’ to catch runaway leaders Prestatyn Town, with the return to full fitness of James Murphy another huge plus for the ambitious group under Eddie Maurice-Jones.
