PRESTATYN Town manager Neil Gibson has further strengthened with the signing of talented young goalkeeper Ryan Roberts.

The Seasiders announced the move on Friday evening prior to their JD Welsh Cup clash with New Brighton Villa, with Roberts making a return to the Motion Finance Stadium after a spell with top flight outfit Llandudno.

Gibson, said: “I’m really pleased to add Ryan to our squad this season. He’s someone I worked closely with for two years and was a vital member of our title-winning Cymru Alliance side.

“Goalkeeper is an area that’s posed a challenge for Prestatyn this season with Ryan Woods, Elias Jones, Scott Williams and Christian Wright all filling that role already.

“Defender Ciran Jones has even ended up between the sticks twice. Ryan is currently out injured and that may be for some time, and Christian has been unavailable for about a month - so Ryan Roberts will bring stability to that position and some excellent competition for Scott Williams, who I must say has done very well in the last 3 games that I’ve seen.

“What impresses me most about Ryan is his dedication to training and his desire to constantly improve and be the best goalkeeper he can be. I’m sure he’ll relish this opportunity. He’s another player who will drive the standards I expect from my squad.

“We welcome Ryan back to the club and thank Llandudno FC for their assistance in a swift transfer.”
