KINMEL Bay surged up to fourth in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two standings thanks to an emphatic 7-0 rout at Amlwch Town.

The newly promoted side continued their excellent start to the season with another clinical display, and they made a blistering opening to proceedings which resulted in Kie Ellis and Jack Wilkins putting them two-up within the first 12 minutes of the contest.

A quick-fire brace from Jordan Worthington on 30 and 34 minutes put them further in the ascendancy, with Gygorgy Szabo also helping himself to a brace to close out a sensational first period for the away side.

The tempo notably slowed after the interval resulting in fewer opportunities for the visitors, but they add one more to their tally when Ellis finished well on 62 mintes to round off the scoring.

There was no such luck for Meliden, who were on the wrong end of a thumping 7-0 home reverse at the hands of Pwllheli.

Prestatyn Sports bowed out of the Lock Stock Cookson Cup thanks to a 2-0 home defeat to Nantlle Vale.

A tense encounter was turned on its head late on when Russell Williams gave Vale the lead on 70 minutes, and Aaron Thomas was on hand to fire a second after 87 to condemn Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ side to an early exit.

St Asaph City also suffered a cup defeat after a 6-2 home loss to Greenfield, ending their recent run of positive results.

Teenager Luke Sumner was the star of the show for the visitors with a hat-trick, with Duncan Midgley and Paul Fleming on target for the Saints.
