LLANRUG United maintained their impressive start to the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One campaign with a 3-1 home victory over Penrhyndeudraeth.

The hosts came out of the blocks flying and went ahead after just three minutes when Aaron Hughes converted an early chance, but they were pegged back on the quarter hour mark when Meillir Williams finished well to level proceedings.

United responded well to the setback and got their noses in front yet again courtesy of a Dylan Owen penalty on 29 minutes, and Hughes doubled their advantage after the break with his second of the afternoon after 50 to seal the points for the third placed side.

Nantlle Vale lost further ground to early pacesetters Llangefni Town after they were held 2-2 at home by newly promoted Prestatyn Sports.

Things looked bleak for Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ men as the home side went two up early on thanks to a clinical brace for Rob Daniels, but they managed to avoid further complications until the interval and saw a marked improvement in their performance in the second period.

Darren Cassidy got them back into the contest with a thumping header from a Dean Hyland corner, and Robbie Dunn managed to prod home from close range to secure a share of the spoils.

A Jamie Burgess strike was enough to give Bodedern Athletic a 1-1 draw at Greenfield, and Jamie Whitmore fired in a treble for Mynydd Llandegai in their thrilling 4-3 home win over Llandyrnog United.

There was no such luck for Llanberis and Barmouth and Dyffryn United, who suffered defeat at the hands of St Asaph City and Llandudno Albion respectively.
