LLANGEFNI Town manager Chris Roberts lauded his side’s performance in their 5-0 rout at Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title rivals Llandudno Albion.

The visitors wasted no time in making an impact and went ahead after just 15 minutes when marquee summer signing Alan Mark Owen latched on to a Steve Kehoe free-kick to give Cefni the advantage.

Things got even better for Roberts’ men soon after when Liam Morris rounded off a fine team move to double their advantage at the break, and Cai Powell-Roberts’ thunderbolt after the interval all-but sealed the points for the away side.

There was still time for the away side to pile further misery on a lacklustre Albion, with substitutes Cameron Jones and Matthew Jones both netting late on to round off a sensational afternoon at the office for the ambitious club.

Roberts, said: “The lads once again were outstanding. I asked them before the match to go and push on from the win at Llanrug in midweek, I wanted to see the same tempo off the ball where we chased everything down and not gave them a moments peace.

“I thought the defence were solid once again and we never looked like conceding to be honest. It was great to score five and especially for new signings Liam and Alan Mark to get their first competitive goals for the club.

“We could have scored more to be honest and found ourselves in really good positions to cause them problems. What’s also pleasing is to see we had six missing again and that we have squad capable of rotation and can adapt to different oppositions, situations and style of play.”
