LLANBERIS continued their busy pre-season as they prepare to embark on the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One season with a 3-1 reverse at Prestatyn Town.

The home side started the contest on the front foot and took the lead on 13 minutes courtesy of a sensational strike from Dan Roberts, who rifled a half volley into the top corner after Alex Jones’ effort was hacked off the line.

Things got even better for Leon Field and Ryan Turner’s men soon after when Ben Cawley doubled their advantage after 32 minutes when Ben Cawley unleashed a ferocious striker from outside the area that left the visiting keeper with no chance.

The Seasiders were in irresistible form going forward and there was further cause for celebration just before the break when Cawley took advantage of some hesitant goalkeeping to charge down a kick and prod into an empty net.

After the interval saw an improved performance from the away side, who managed to gain a consolation for their efforts a minute before the hour mark when a deep cross evaded the Town defence and left Arwyn Price with the simple task of slotting home from close range.

Despite Jack Hoult and Jones missing chances for the Huws Gray Alliance side in the closing stages they managed to hold on for a deserved victory from what was a very worthwhile exercise for both sets of players ahead of the new campaign.
