LLANFAIRPWLL have announced their decision to withdraw from Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two for the upcoming season.

The fourth-tier side informed league secretary Ron Bridges of the move on Tuesday after failing to secure a manager will the level of commitment to take the side forward following their relegation from Division One last season.

Despite having numerous applications in relation to their vacant managerial position, no agreement was reached with the interested parties which resulted in the decision to remove themselves from the league.

A club statement, said: “It is with great regret that we have had to resign from the Welsh Alliance League.

“Unfortunately, despite applicants and many enquiries the club have been unable to appoint a new manager to continue in this league.”

The club also revealed that they will be continuing and instead plying their trade in the Kon-X Anglesey League under manager Steve Thomas and coach Spud Thomas.

“Obviously the decision to drop two leagues was not taken lightly and all avenues were looked at before deciding to take this course of action,” the statement added.

“We would like to thank Derfel Gilford for taking the training to keep us going while the managerial and league side of things were being looked at. We look forward to the challenge and fresh start.”

A decision has yet to be made on Amlwch Town, who have also threatened to pull out of Division Two unless they can solve their player shortage.
