PRESTATYN Town have made significant addition to their squad with the signing of Sam Kersh from Aberystwyth Town.

The talented defender becomes the latest to join the Seasiders’ new-look squad after impressing considerably during their pre-season draw with AFC Bridgnorth on Saturday.

The 23-year-old spent five years in the United States of America playing semi-professional football for the likes of Los Angeles Golden Eagles and California State.

He made the all-tournament team in the regional championships, and also played in high prolife regions such as New York, Israel and Australia before eventually finding his way to the JD Welsh Premier League with Aber.

The new recruit will look to continue his development under Town’s new management team of Leon Field and Ryan Turner, who aim to consolidate the club’s position within the Huws Gray Alliance following their relegation from the top flight and mass exodus of senior figures throughout the summer.

Kersh, said: “I really like the setup here, you can feel the positive around the place - Leon and Ryan’s vision is clear to see.

“I know a few people here already, including Alex Lloyd. I think the lads put in a great performance on Saturday, and we can only get better as we develop more of an understanding. Now it’s about getting used to how everyone plays, and generally just getting to know everyone off the pitch, too.”

“I’ve heard great things about the fanbase at the club - they know that Prestatyn Town needs to get back to the top tier of Welsh football, so of course that’s our goal - whatever it takes.”
