CONWY Borough have strengthened their squad ahead of their return to the Huws Gray Alliance with the signings of Antoni Sarnowski and Connor Shackleton.

The pair bolster what is an impressive looking squad for manager Gareth Thomas to choose from as they look to re-establish themselves as a second-tier force following a memorable treble-winning campaign that saw them scoop the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title, FAW Trophy and Cookson Cup.

Goalkeeper Sarnowski arrives at Y Morfa after a spell at Rhyl, where he found opportunities limited last term thanks to the stunning form of established number one Rory Crowther.

The talented young shot stopper looks to solve a problem position for the Tangerines going into the new campaign, and Sarnowski will compete for the starting position with Ryan Roberts after last year’s standout agreed a new deal with the club.

Shackleton is a promising young midfielder who joins from Prestatyn Town after emerging within the senior squad last season during their brief stint in the JD Welsh Premier League under Neil Gibson and Gareth Wilson.

Thomas, said: “Both have been training with us for three weeks with us and shown ability and great attitude.

“We are delighted to bring both these players into the squad. We are also happy to have also re-signed defender Nathan Williams and goalkeeper Ryan Roberts from last year’s squad so we have great competition as the squad takes shape.”
