ANOTHER Prestatyn Town squad member has departed for pastures new after agreeing a deal with Huws Gray Alliance rivals Denbigh Town.

Ross Weaver became the 12th member of last season’s line up to depart following their relegation from the JD Welsh Premier League, with six leaving in the last few days to pile further misery on the incoming Seasiders’ manager.

The 21-year-old former Wrexham youth product was part of the Town squad that secured promotion to the top flight after a memorable championship winning campaign, and made a good impression during the WPL games he appeared in last term.

Weaver, said: “I would like to thank Prestatyn Town for the time I spent there. I am now excited to join Denbigh and am looking forward greatly to the new season and the challenge ahead.

“After speaking to Matt (Jones) and Dewi (Llion) on several occasions it became clear it was the best choice for me to progress and I want to be a part of this project they are building.”

Talented full-back Tom Kemp and exciting forward Jack Higgins joined second tier rivals Flint Town United, where they join up with ex-Rhyl boss Niall McGuinness and former teammate Jack Lewis, while the midfield duo of Ben Maher and Ross Stephens are staying in the WPL after agreeing terms with newly promoted Caernarfon Town.

Also departing the club this week was James Stead, who made a move to title contenders Rhyl despite being offered a better financial package by the Silkmen.
