PRESTATYN Town have appointed Dave Fuller as their new director of football.

The former reserve team boss officially accepted the position at the helm of the Huws Gray Alliance side on Saturday, and he will be tasked with rebuilding a squad that has suffered a number of key departures in recent weeks.

Fuller enjoyed a hugely successful first stint as Seasiders’ boss when he led a talented group including Michael Parker and Dave Hayes to an unbeaten title winning season in 2006, and he also masterminded the club’s Reserves to a championship last term.

Town CEO Leigh Williams, said: “I am really pleased that Dave has accepted this role with the club.

“Dave's knowledge and experience will help the club enormously going forward for the coming season.”

The new appointment and well-respected figure within the set-up is keen to continue the development of young players throughout the region that has been a cornerstone of the club’s success over the years.

"I am delighted to have been asked to take on the role of director of football with the club,” added Fuller.

“I have always taken a keen interest in Prestatyn since 2005 when I was manager. I am a great believer in local talent & I was lucky enough to go a season undefeated with key players like Dave Hayes, Michael Parker, Dunty (Jonathan Hill-Dunt) and Gibbo (Neil Gibson).

“I am happy to guide and support the new manager in order to put Prestatyn back where it belongs.”

A new managerial appointment is set to be confirmed in the coming days as preparations gather pace for their return to the second tier following their relegation from the JD Welsh Premier League last season.
