TWO key figures have signed extensions with Rhyl ahead of the new Huws Gray Alliance season.

The Lilywhites confirmed that midfielder duo Stewart Carroll and Mike Walsh have penned new deals at the Corbett Sports Stadium under new director of football Eddie Maurice-Jones.

The re-building work continues at Rhyl with the news of the retention of two of the squad from last season.

Carroll joined the Lilies from Flint Town United at the start of the 2017-18 season and went on to make 29 appearances, scoring six goals.

His energetic and fully committed style of play made his a particular favourite amongst the Belle Vue faithful, and was one of the shining lights in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the ambitious club.

Walsh’s appearances last season were restricted by an early season injury, and the midfielder returned to fitness towards the end of the season with valuable contributions in the last three games of the season against Holyhead Hotspur, Airbus Broughton and Denbigh Town.

Both will now join a host of new signings in recent weeks as the new management team looks to bring in the sufficient quality needed to challenge the likes of Bangor City and the Wingmakers in what is expected to be a hugely competitive second tier next term.
