A STUNNING bowling performance from Amer Jamil guided St Asaph Seconds to a seven-wicket triumph at Conwy.

The North Wales Cricket League Second Division West leaders turned in another exceptional display to gain 13-points, with Jamil removing Andrew Davies (8), Evan Williams (7) and Sean Pyman (5) early on, before disposing of Daniel Lawrence and Martin Watford for a pair of ducks to end a sensational nine over spell with figures of 5-7.

Elliot Morris, David North and Charlie Williams all helped themselves to a wicket apiece, with Robert Gater (10) and Glyn Meredith (11) the only home batsmen to make it into double figures as they collapsed to 63 all out from 36 overs at the crease.

The Saints got off to a difficult start with the bat as Ben Murphy and David Lloyd were both despatched for 11 by Watford, who also took the prized wicket of skipper Mark Dine for a duck.

A strong partnership from Mike Thompson and Jamil ensured the visitors reached their target with minimal fuss, with both finishing unbeaten on 17 and 16 respectively to secure victory.

St Asaph’s first unit were without a fixture this weekend, but return to North Wales Cricket League Premier Division action this Saturday when they host Connah’s Quay at Elwy Grove Park.
