RHYL Ladies have confirmed that Casaandra Thomas will replace Tom Jamieson as first team manager.

The Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League side wasted no time in replacing the outgoing boss, who will now oversee the development of the women’s game in the town in a director role.

Thomas is a former player for the Lilies and recently completed her UEFA B Licence, and she also boats managerial experience having steered the under 14 side to success in recent years.

She has also spent some time coaching in the United States of America to ready herself for the role.

Thomas, said: “I am really excited about the challenges this new post will bring and I am looking forward to leading the team into another season within the Welsh Premier.

“I aim to build close links with all our female Rhyl teams from the girls through to our newly formed development team in order to encourage players to progress within the women's game.

“With regards to the women's First Team I would like to continue building on the strong core we have and hope to strengthen the team so that we can continue progressing at the highest level.

“I have received fantastic support and well wishes and would like to thank everyone on the Rhyl Committee for the support they’ve shown and look forward to working with them”.

Rhyl Ladies Chairman Tom Jamieson added that he was delighted with the appointment, adding: “We have a real winner in Cassie who understands the Rhyl way.”
