PRESTATYN Town have lost more key squad members following their relegation from the JD Welsh Premier League.

The Journal understands that Tom Kemp, James Stead and Jack Higgins have all reportedly agreed to join up with Niall McGuinness at Huws Gray Alliance rivals Flint Town United after turning down the chance to remain at the Motion Finance Stadium.

This came just hours after goalkeeper Carl Jones and talisman Michael Parker also announced their respective departures to Holyhead Hotspur and Connah’s Quay.

The news is another blow to manager Gareth Wilson, who will also be without the services of Zebb, Zyaac Edwards, while long-serving captain Dave Hayes has decided to retire.

Kemp is widely regarded as one of the best full-backs in the region and was a target of the Silkmen during the transfer window, and Stead is another useful addition to the United set-up having been one of the Seasiders’ leading lights in the top flight campaign last term.

The talented Higgins is another that looks to have a bright future within the game, and he also makes the move to an ambitious Flint side that made great strides during the second half of the HGA season under the former Rhyl boss after a difficult start.

Wilson is believed to be working hard to fill the huge void left by the recent departures, with some news regarding arrivals expected in the coming days.
