LLANDUDNO Albion boss Paul Cheung signed off with some silverware after his side secured a 4-1 win over Llandyrnog United to clinch the Mawddach Challenge Cup.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One turned in a fabulous display to run out comfortable winners, ensuring the departing boss ended his trophy laden stint at the helm with another medal to add to his collection.

A cagey opening to proceedings at the home of Conwy Borough brought little in the way of chances, but Albion managed to get their noses in front on 22 minutes when Conor Davies’ deflected effort found a way past the despairing Dan Jones.

This provoked a strong response from Ryan Harden’s side, who fought back and levelled matters on the half hour mark when veteran Danny Roberts turned in a Dan Porter delivery after 34 minutes.

Their joy proved to be short lived as Cheung’s men hit their stride once again immediately following the restart when Dan Evans found some space, and the prolific playmaker made no mistake to notch his 15th goal of the season.

After the interval saw Albion completely dominate proceedings, and they doubled their tally when Anthony Marshall rounded off another impressive team move to put them further in the ascendancy.

Things got even better for the ambitious side soon after when they notched a fourth courtesy of Bryan Roberts, who saved the best for last with a sensational strike from long range to complete the scoring.

Jones kept the score respectable with a stunning penalty spot to deny Albion a fifth in the closing stages, but it did not take the gloss off another memorable night for the club after they successfully gained their fifth trophy in just four seasons.
