PRESTATYN Sports have passed the necessary ground inspection ahead of their imminent promotion to Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One.
The Division Two leaders were visited by league officials on Tuesday, May 15 and met all the criteria needed, and now Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ men can clinch the championship and promotion this Saturday when they visit Y Felinheli.
Their title will also be confirmed if Bodedern Athletic fail to win at home to Pentraeth on Wednesday.
A club spokesman, said: “Thanks to the ground inspection team that came down, and to hear their comments was brilliant and made us feel more proud of what we have done.
“Most of them came to our FAW ground inspection when we were voted out of the league, so they knew the massive effort that has been put in by all the committee of the club to get Fortress Gronant up to standard.
“It has made all the hard work worthwhile.”
Sports have enjoyed a sensational rise through the pyramid in recent seasons, and are currently unbeaten in the fourth tier having dropped just six points throughout the campaign.
They have scored an astonishing 112 goals and conceded just 27, with the prolific Ian Griffiths leading the way with 26 league strikes.
