RHYL Football Club have announced an ambitious community partnership with a leading education support company.

The Lilywhites announced that The Educate Group will manage existing and develop new community based projects and will continue to develop the football club’s name and reputation within the region.

Chairman Paul Higginson, said: “At Rhyl Football Club we have been considering for some time how to take our community scheme to the next level.

“In Educate resourcing we have found the perfect partner to do this. During the coming years the community will feel the full benefit of this partnership”.

The club has delivered community-based projects to support children, young people and adults to help them improve their educational outcomes and life aspirations over a number of years, and the latest news has received praise from Chris Ruane, MP for the Vale of Clwyd.

He said: “This is an excellent initiative being put forward by a club which is passionate about the community it serves.

“Rhyl FC has always been a community based club and has helped deliver many projects supporting local children, young people and adults.

“As a former teacher, this new project, sounds like an excellent way of engaging with learners and I look forward to seeing its success.”

Vice-chairman Barry Mellor and managing director Mike Jones, added: “Exciting opportunities lay ahead for the people in the Rhyl community and we aim for the Educate partnership to support as many individuals as we can to make a positive difference to their lives.”
