PRESTATYN Town boss Neil Gibson has urged his side to close out Phase One of the JD Welsh Premier League season when they travel to Newtown on Saturday (5.15pm).

The Seasiders will remain in the bottom two at the split regardless of the result against a familiar face in Chris Hughes, who was an assistant under the Town manager in a highly successful spell at the Motion Finance Stadium.

The Huws Gray Alliance champions have found life tough in their return to the top flight and are currently on a run of six consecutive league losses which finds them four points adrift of Aberystwyth Town and safety.

Gibson, said: “We are looking forward to going to Newtown on Saturday. They are coming off the back of some excellent results over the Christmas period and after their comeback win over Cardiff Met in midweek they will be full of confidence.

“Obviously I know Chris well and he is doing a great job there, with the squad he is assembling and the players he has brought in there is no doubt they are going to start climbing the table and we are going to have to be at our best if we want to get anything out of the game.

“We have been putting in some good performances of late but it is about time that we start getting something from games that will turn our fortunes around.”

The club announced their second signing of the January transfer window this week as midfielder Warren Adam returned to the Town set-up following a spell with Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One leaders Conwy Borough.

Adam has been cleared to feature in the squad for their weekend clash.
