Greg Strong’s pre-season plans continued to take shape with an excellent 2-1 win over Northwich Victoria.
A superb Danny Hughes strike into the top corner and Paul McManus’ confident penalty opened up a 2-0 lead after 25 minutes, and Alex Ramsey saved well from Odilin Koubomba to keep the advantage at the break.
Rhyl old-boy Paul Mooney began to show why he was a Belle Vue fans favourite last term as the second half progressed, and the Vics pulled one back from the spot through Lee Dodgson.
The Lilywhites also launched the club’s new-look crest this week.
The reshaped badge, designed in partnership with Brag Marketing and Design, includes the club’s English and Welsh names.
General Manager Mike Jones said: “It was key not to change the identity of the club crest. The Lilywhite emblem has been a part of the history of the club for many years, the main ambition was to include the wording of Rhyl FC and CPD Y Rhyl and give it a modern look.”
