RHYL’S run-away start to the season was halted on Friday night in a 1-0 defeat to bogey-side Llandudno Town.

Youngster Dean Seager netted the only goal to give the Seasiders their first win of the season, despite the previously free-scoring Rhyl carving out a number of opportunities.

Manager Greg Strong refused to be downbeat following the defeat, and was confident his side would bounce back in last night’s (Tuesday) game against Buckley.

“To be fair, we didn’t play that well in the first half, but in the second we had chance after chance. If Llandudno are honest, they’ll say they had two chances all game and score with one, but it was just one of those games.

Seager netted what proved to be the winner three minutes from half time after breaking through the Rhyl backline and slotting past keeper Stefan Holden.

Paul Mooney curled an effort just wide, Jason Oswell saw a snapshot saved by Llandudno keeper Callum Hawthorne and former Town man Ryan Williams fired a free kick past the post.
