Rhyl 6 Flint Town United 0
A SECOND HALF blitz saw Rhyl hit Flint Town United for six.
Greg Strong’s men put on a fantastic Friday night performance to rout their much fancied visitors, with two each for Russ Courtney and James Gambino and further strikes from Jason Oswell and Ryan Williams.
Strong said it was a great win after an untidy first half. “We came in at half time not too happy, but as I always say to the lads if you keep doing the right things you’ll get your reward.”
“Flint are one of the sides that are tipped to do well this year, so it just shows how well we played and the high standards the lads have set themselves.”
Rhyl top the fledgling Huws Gray Alliance table after two matches but Strong says it is far too early to get carried away.
“It was a good win and we’ll go on from here. We’re a new side and we’re still learning about each-other.
“We’ve got a difficult game coming against Caersws. It’s a tough place to play on a difficult surface, and although they lost at the weekend they’re still scoring goals.”
